Since 1996, he has hosted the Spring Festival Gala for 16 consecutive years. In 2008, he served as the television commentator for the opening ceremony of the 29th Beijing Olympic Games. In November 2016, he was transferred to Beijing Performing Arts Group as chief performance officer.
